This book aims to provide a casual introduction to the main features of the TypeScript language. This chapter covers: The intended audience for this book (i.e. who did I imagine would be interested in reading it?) Why learn TypeScript? What's the return on investment here? Aren't there enough books out there already? Why write another one? A more personal note on how I wrote the book for those of you interested in the mechanics and other metrics of such things.
